About Dr. Liz

Dr. Elizabeth Cherevaty, ND is a licensed and registered Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. After graduating with Distinction from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Toxicology, Elizabeth worked with Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety as a toxicologist, and with Health Canada as a safety and efficacy evaluator for natural health products. She then went on to pursue her dream of becoming a Naturopathic Doctor, completing the intensive 4-year postgraduate Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at the  Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, one of two accredited naturopathic medical schools in Canada, where she was awarded the Advanced Orthomolecular Research Clinical Nutrition Scholarship and the Year 3 and Year 4 Naturomedic.com Bursaries.
Elizabeth had received naturopathic care from her childhood and realized her calling would be to help others as her Naturopathic Doctors had helped her. She expanded on her naturopathic education with additional training in the Bowen Technique, Reiki, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Mind-Body Medicine, and Hahnemannian Homeopathy with the Canadian Academy of Homeopathy (CAH). A freelance writer and consultant to the natural health products industry, several of Dr. Elizabeth's articles have been featured in publications such as Viva magazine and Integrated Health Retailer (IHR). In private practice at Healing Foundations Naturopathic Clinic in downtown Guelph and Gordon Street Chiropractic Centre in south Guelph, Dr. Elizabeth has a special interest in helping children and families achieve optimal health through naturopathic medicine. She employs all of the naturopathic modalities as suited to the individual patient to help resolve symptoms and address the underlying causes of illness, whether acute (e.g. colds and flus) or chronic (e.g. digestive issues, fatigue, high blood pressure, arthritis, skin conditions, fertility and reproductive concerns, stress management, weight management, etc.) Her studies have taken her as far as India, Brazil and Kenya where she has had the opportunity to further explore clinical therapeutics, traditional medicine and culture. Elizabeth enjoys keeping active with cross-country and alpine skiing, hiking, yoga and dance, and investing long hours in her kitchen experimenting with healthy cooking ideas.
Dr. Cherevaty is a professional member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and an Executive Board Member of the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors (APND).
